I’m passionate about travel & have worked in the industry for over twenty years, mostly for long haul tour operators. For me, it’s all about the whole experience & booking your holiday should be part of the fun.
This is what has inspired me to open my new shop SouthseaTravel@21, which looks nothing like a travel agent! No brochures out, just years of experience & a desire to provide the best possible travel arrangements & personal service for my loyal & new customers.
I started out with a three year backpacking trip back in the late 80s’, that’s how I got the travel bug! My partner & I travelled through India, South East Asia, Australia, North Africa & Europe, working along the way. On the way back, we got married in Thailand with a full blown Buddhist ceremony in Chiang Mai. The honeymoon was spent on motorbikes on the Burmese border! Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to have many trips through work & our family holidays, from 5* Dubai recently, to backpacking from Bangkok down to Singapore when the children were young! I have to admit Thailand is still my favourite, though Sri Lanka is a close second. Other places I’ve been lucky enough to travel to are China (simply amazing), South Africa, Middle East, East coast USA, Canada, Maldives & lots of Europe. I’ve a house in Portugal, which is in a really unspoilt & beautiful area of the country.... to be highly recommended if you like to get off the beaten track, or like watersports!

My background is mainly in the water-sports holiday market providing windsurfing and kitesurfing holidays and experiences to locations including Hawaii, The Philippines, Greece, Africa and South America.
Being a passionate 'waterman' myself, I tend to home in on locations that offer something 'different' to mainstream destinations and ensure customer requirements are met to the fullest - this is of paramount importance to me, to ensure a personal, taylor-made service supported by expert knowledge.
Having travelled extensively with my family in my earlier years, I can safely say that travel is in the blood and that the words 'airport' and 'flying' are enough to get the endorphins going! More recently, I moved my business to SouthseaTravel@21, Portsmouth, where I hope to extend my product range to include flight-inclusive packages. This will enable us to package active sports adventures including ski & snowboard holidays and experiences all over the world. To me, this is an incredibly exciting area to offer to our clients and combined with our highly personalised service makes us a key differentiator from our competitors.
